ACF Culinary Competitions ...The Ultimate Challenge

Culinary Competitions are a vital and evolving branch of the American Culinary Federation (ACF). Some competitions are single events taking place at ACF chapters. Whereas other student and professional competitions that include individual and team events engage in a rigorous qualifying process that begins at the local ACF chapter level, advances at the AFC Regional Conferences and culminates with the finals at the ACF National Convention. Regardless of the level, the purpose is the same-to continually raise the standards of culinary excellence in the USA while promoting camaraderie and educational opportunities among culinary professionals.

  • Competitions nurture the creativity of individual chefs by encouraging their participation in a team setting while providing an opportunity to hone individual skills, techniques, and style.
  • Competitions are an outlet for inspiration, reward and recognition for culinary professionals, as well as a means of earning ACF Certification points.
  • Competitions are a staging area for the research and development of culinary concepts.

There is no better way for a culinarian to challenge themselves than by putting their skills and knowledge to the test in a competitive format. The reward is well worth the risk.
