ACFF Educational Opportunities
The American Culinary Federation Foundation (ACFF) offers educational
resources to help you achieve and maintain your competitive advantage
in today's ever-changing culinary industry. The American Culinary
Federation is your partner for professional and personal success.
Certification - Open to all culinarians, ACF certification is a symbol of professionalism as well as a means of validating your education and experience. ACF offers 14 levels of certification, and is the only certifier of master chefs in the United States.
Apprenticeship
- Apprenticeship is on-the-job training combined with technical classroom
instruction. There are approximately 80 culinary apprenticeship programs
sponsored by American Culinary Federation Foundation (ACFF).
Accreditation
- The American Culinary Federation Foundation Accrediting Commission
(ACFFAC) accredits postsecondary culinary-arts institutions and certifies
secondary culinary programs. Currently there are 169 accredited
postsecondary culinary institutions and 91 certified
secondary schools approved by the ACFFAC.
Scholarships
- The American Academy of Chefs (AAC), offers educational scholarships
to culinary students and professional chefs furthering their education.
ACF also provides information on scholarship from other organizations.
National Educational
Assurance - ACFF's Educational Assurance program is designed to
give non-degree-granting programs the opportunity to become recognized
by the ACFF.
Continuing Education Opportunities
eCulinary - This Professional Development Institute is an online portal for culinarians seeking online educational and developmental classes beneficial to career advancement.
www.chefcertification.com - Find ACF certification courses in a convenient online format! By taking courses using the self-paced online service, Chefs can earn required credit hours for initial certification or certification renewal, all from the comforts of home or the confines of work.
ACF Annual Events Series - ACF hosts four regional conferences and a national convention every year which includes numerous educational programs, networking and social events.
Professional Development Program - Is part of the ACF Annual Events Series. The program provides educational sessions to expand the knowledge base of members, includes forums where members can demonstrate and sharpen skills, offers opportunities to fulfill certification requirements and supports post-secondary culinary education programs.
Approved Continuing Education Hours (CEH) - Continuing education is a critical component of the ACF certification and certification renewal requirements.
